Anyone know of a car tire that will go on a 2007 FLHPI Police Road King. It currently has a Dunlop D402 on the rear. Before the negative comments.....I do not care how it corners. I have a double wide 2 seater sidecar and it does not lean. Current Mcycle tires last about 4k due to the additional wear of the sidecar. A car tire may work out ideal for this application.
The D402 has listed on the side MU85B16 M/C 77H

Much thanks for input.

Katobird- no need to watch ME, because my Vredestein is only at about 16k and has a fair amount of tread left, so maybe early summer I'll have it worn enough to justify an Austone.

Austone 175r16 should fit fine. RKs and EGs have the same rear end I'm pretty sure.

I finally did some measurements...
With the Dunlop 402 I only have about 1/4" on the left side....

So all bets off I can't (don't) want to take the chance of it not fitting..

IF I find a 165 or 155 in the future...IT'S GOING ON
Good luck guys

It'll fit. Another member here used one on his 07 and left the belt guard on. 07s must be a little different than my 06.

It must be..
I beleive it was you who gave me a measurement of 6 3/8" for the Austone tire..
1/4" clearance on mine with the D402 at 5 3/4" wide..
I'm a little bummed out.

The L/H fender is closer than the right side about 3/8" and the taillight end
The belt guard is the 1/4", but I prefer to leave it on and I looked at a few options on modifying it....but just won't cut it..

Thx cooler

Looks like 5/16" plus a millimeter for clearance is all you'd need. Grinding a very small crescent out of the guard won't be noticable, ESPECIALLY since you have saddlebags. Also, IF you had fender contact, bulging it out slightly would be also hidden.
I'd do it in a minnit. I'd either grind and paint the edge on the guard or just bend the bracket to move it over a hair. It wouldn't be much, according to your numbers.
Some of the metric guys have modified their frames, dented the heck out of their driveshaft tubes, and all kinds of crap because they just won't put a narrower (and I think better handling) tire in there.
Your mods would be very minimal.
