Roberto, in the thread you quoted from,(https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touring-models/650365-does-anyone-know-how-much-a-dunlop-180-65b16-weighs.html) there were two other forum members that posted the weight as only being 14 lbs apiece, so....you can understand my confusion. I'm just trying to seperate fact from fiction. Everything so far points to them weighing in at 14 lbs per tire which would be 6 lbs heavier than the MT. That's a weight penalty that cannot be ignored. So, I guess my question now would be "do the benefits outweigh (no pun intended) the detriments?" 6 lbs is a huge amount of weight to add. As far as it working, I'm sure it does work. The question is, how well does it work? There are more factors for me to consider than just handling and ride quality. I'm interested in performance, also. If, by adding 6 lbs of rotating mass, it adversely affects acceleration and braking, then that needs to be taken into consideration, also. I'm not sure I'd like to give that up. I'm 85% sold on this mod, but there's that small amount of indecission that's keeping me from going to the Darkside. I realize that you're an adof this mod, however, some of us need a bit more convincing than others.

Ride safe, ride often,
Gearhead3

JMO, but with the heavyweight slug speed of a Harley, do you really believe you'll feel it? You consider power-to-weight ratios, sure, but we're talking a boatload of weight here to begin with. Not trying to convince you either way, just sayin'. ('cause I'm insomnial)

Lol
Good point, but I've just installed the FM 107 and would like to keep the performance I've gained with it. I'm sure I'll do the CT, but I'd like the performance to at least stay even, not take a step backwards.

Why don't you put a CT on and find out.

Ya, wut HE said!
I guess in one way you'll think it feels slower: less road input. These things are very noticeably smoother than MT's. But E.T.'s - doubt a change except for less slippage. If you spun off the line before, it's gonna take a LOT more power to make it spin now.

There is no performance penalty, at least in my experience. It accelerates just as good, stops better, turns better, its more comfortable, more stable and it doesn't get affected by an overload. Same MPG.

Not trying to convince you, its not my job, these are simple facts.

The only thing wrong with using CTs? the naysayers,

Regards,
