What risk?? Always wonder where these concerns come from? Must be grape vine wives tales.Certainly not from people who have actually used car tires.Back before there were radials a lot of my Bros ran bias car tires and nobody, emphasize NOBODY! had any problems. We used to run these tires to the cords.Just a different breed back then I guess!

Would there be an advantage if you put car tires on both ends?

I paid $132.99 shipping included for my American Elite 180/65-16 at Jake Wilson. Now it's $152.99. I expect to get around 15K miles out of it. Why would I use a car tire that's not designed for my bike? To save 20 bucks every 2 years? No thanks. I looked at the dark side and concluded it's not worth it. I'm not saying they don't work, I'm saying they're not designed for my bike. Oh and I have wheel and tire coverage with my extended warranty. You think they're gonna cover a car tire? I think not.

don't you think a car tire can cruise down the freeway at 80+ mph? how many of us worry about cornering or 80+ mph in our cages?

There was a point in my life when I got interested in hang gliders. I started reading books about the sport and most of them began with "In memory of". Kind of put me off.

On the wheel and tire coverage-will they replace an American Elite if it gets a nail or otherwise damaged since it doesn't say Harley Davidson on it? I'm just curious as I also have the wheel and tire coverage and would like to try the American Elites. How long have you had yours and how do they handle? I am also getting 15k out of my D407 rear tire and if I can get the same mileage for less money, I'm going to try them-if the warranty will cover it. Thanks
