Definitely change the fob battery before going on a long trip. You don't need this problem in the middle of nowhere.

Haven't changed battery since I got the bike in '07 never had issue, If I get stuck I forget how to do the code thing......have to brush up on that. One of those things that if you don't do you might forget........Yeah I forgot

Now that's is a good idea!

Note to self: new batteries, both FOBs, birthday.

Lots of great ideas here - thanks! I will now keep extra batteries in the saddle bag and replace once a year. I tell you, it was not a good feeling... glad I had the manual with the disarming sequence card.... not to mention a little embarrassing - the alarm kept wailing with each failed attempt to start her up.

Still running the original battery in my 2006 FOB. But I always carry a backup too.

Same thing happened to me awhile back. I change out the batteries to my truck fob, harley fob and home smoke detectors once a year. I do it when the time changes to Daylight Savings time (which i gotta do this coming weekend) Better be safe than sorry

Mine died in front of the Tropicana in Atlantic City a few weeks ago. Luckily I'd decided to input a code right before I left.

This is a great reason to learn how to over ride the security system with the code. Also, put that pushbutton gas cap on in case you drop the keys along the way.
