Default SG Sadona Orange Painted Inner Fairing (PICs) Easy Install

Just wanted to share my experience installing my first painted inner fairing,
Very easy job, took about 2 hours even for a shade tree mechanic. This is on my son's FLHX, I will be doing mine as soon as it arrives.

Remove outer fairing (7 screws, headlight connector), Remove Cap and switches (2 screws, 1 nut on ignition switch), Remove blinkers (4 screws), unplug connectors from 6 gauges, remove the speakers (3 screws on each), Disconnect clutch cable from lever (snap ring), Remove Odometer push-button (Remove rubber cap and nut),Remove 4 screws from inner fairing and it's off. Now just remove the gauges (2 screws on each). Reassemble in reverse order.

Looks great...good job. Now you just need some black bars coming off that orange fairing

Nice job - this project's already on my winter bike hibernation "to do" list...along w/other stuff. Hope to get a few more weeks of riding in before starting on the list.

I like the looks of a painted fairing. My dealer was going to replace mine on my 09 SG because of fadeing. I took it to my painter. They installed it for me for free. Don't want to put the windshield bag back on now. Took the dealer over 2 hours to do. They orginally said it was about 1 1/2 hr job. So you did real good at 2 hours.

That's the plan, either Wild Ones (like mine) or Monkey Bars. That's why we didn't drill for mirrors.

To do it in 2 hours that's fast especialy if it was your first one.
It took me about 4 or 5 hours I had to take a break half way into it and I finish it the next day. I took my time and marked all the conectors only to find out the conectors are almost idiot proof they only fit into the right conection.
Now that I have done one it would only take about 3 hours and that's what I would charge someone if I had a shop.

Awesome! Thanks for the pics. Guess I'll add this to my list of mods. I'm expecting delivery of the same bike & color in a couple weeks.
