FYI,

Its easier to leave the gauges in the fairing, take the fairing off, swap the gauges, put the fairing back on.

Thanks for the pictures; don't think I've seen a Sedona Orange before.

And you are more confident than me since I always cover the fender and tank with adequate padding in the event I drop a tool or something else.

Carl

PS: HD's paint if typically flawless on the inner fairings, but they really ought to paint the black plastic bezel around the turn signal/oil pressure lights.

Agree but as long it all goes back together working, all is good. BTW, one of the best upgrades is a painted inner fairing ... IMHO

Yeah, that's what I wrote... remove 4 screws from inner fairing and it's off. Now just remove the gauges (2 screws on each)...

It's not what I did in the pictures but afterward I decided it would have been easier so I wrote it up that way

that is sweet. going to remove mine this winter and have the shop at work paint it for me.. i buy yhe paint and buy them some beer + a few bucks for the effort. my only problem is deciding to paint black pearl (as bike) or vivid black (for contrast).

Looks great and I love the color but I'm biased. I haven't decided if I'm going to go this route or not. It's down on the list a few items for me so maybe next winter...we'll see.
