License plate relocation - $cheap$

RE: License plate relocation - $cheap$
Sorry, no pics yet, but will get some one of these days.
As far as that rail goes, On mine, it was a big old ugly deal used to mount the tourpac and was not removable, much less a quick disconnect.
I changed that. and made the unit a complete quick detatch. 95 % of the time the tour pac is not on and I run a solo seat. I only put all of it on if the Mrs. wants to go for a ride.
The complete rear fender is exposed with just the taillight and turnsignal bar and license plate mounted below on it. The Rear Fender struts have flush black nylon plugs installed in the holes that are left after the removal of the bar. With the Chrome fender strut covers, it winds up looking very clean on the back end.
When I get pics I will post...

RE: License plate relocation - $cheap$
I guess my questions about the holes for the plate mount is directed more towards the Road King or Road Glide folks. I have a Road Glide and was looking at this as a cheap alternative to the Harley and Kuryakyn kits. The Harley kit has a Harley Scripted plate that bolts the the rail. If someone has purchased this kit, then I bet there is a Harley part number in the kit paperwork so it can be ordered separately. Or replacing the rail with the rail from a Street Glide.

Hey guys - I decided to go ahead and purchase the plate relocation kit from softbrake.com - a few bucks cheaper than jpcycles where I originally saw it. I put it on today - was pretty straightforward - it mounts between the fender and the light bar. Here are some pics of it before and after.
