Anyone use the Harbor Freight wheel cleaning stand?
Was at HF today and saw something that looked really intriguing to me. I like having clean wheels when I wash my bike but am tired of having to constantly roll the bike forward and backward to be able to get all of those hard to reach areas of the wheel. Have considered a lift, but then today I saw this $32 wheel cleaning stand at HF. It has a small ramp with 2 metal rollers where you park the tire and should be able to spin the wheel. I was just wondering if anyone else has this tool and what you think of it.
I have that exact one from HF. It's OK, but the wheel doesn't really roll all that easily on it and if the bike is leaning (like normal on the kick stand) the wheel won't stay centered. Most of the time I find myself not using it.
I agree on just getting a jack to get both wheels off the ground at the same time...besides getting them higher which makes it much more comfortable to work on.
Have one for my Deuce but dont use it ofter. Like said, if your tire isnt centered, it will walk to the edge of the ramp and no longer turn. ok for 20 bucks I guess.
