Jiffy stand foward roll

Cuz chit happens?!!
Haven't had problem with the stand personally. Bars to left, stand down. Np.
As it was said earlier since I don't have a park selection I leave it in gear doesn't bother anything. Ya just never know! I believe in Murphy's law and do what I can to narrow the odds.

Let me ask you this . . . If you park a manual transmission car, do you park it in neutral?

This just happened last week and I've been riding a H-D for 13 years and bikes in general for 30 years. Even tho it is the first time I pray its the last, frigged up $1,000.00 worth of parts. Somebody have a modification to tighten it up I'm in !
COPY from my post in the parts wanted:
Thought I had it on the kickstand when it started to move and I kept thinking it would stop. Well, it stopped allright, on its side..............*&^%$ ! Just thankful the black/silver tins are untouched.
Only part that is year/model specific is the derby cover, everything is for the left side.
#1- Bullet turn signal, front
#2- Bullet turn signal, smoked lens
#3- SAC smooth leather, padded hand grip
#4- Clutch lever
#5- Clutch lever mount
#6- Mirror tapered, short stem
#7- Handle bars, may be interested in short reach bars, I'd like the stockers to come
......back an inch or so
#8- Aileron foot peg
#9- Aileron shifter peg
#10- Aileron bullet shifter arm
#11- Primary outer cover
#12- Derby cover,100th anniversary
#13- Bullet turn signal, rear
#14- Bullet turn signal, smoked lens
#15- Something is bent at the rear signal mount, I'm hoping to straighten it when I get
........it apart but there may be more.
You can email me at ss427425@yahoo.com or post here I'll be back.....

My last bike was a Yamaha and my wife and I did a lot of traveling on it. When we stop for gas she usually sits on the bike while I get off and fuel up.
First trip on the Harley, we stop for gas, I get off and hear a squeal, The bike did that little roll and she thought it was going down.
I always stop at the end of the driveway to get the paper on my way to work in the morning. I leave it idling when I get off it does that little roll and I start to grab it.
I don't trust it at all.

That forward roll is unsettling until you understand exactly how the stand works. If you haven't done so put it on a lift and work the stand back and forth and up and down so you can get a good idea how it works. And also to inspect it to make sure that it is working correctly. Good time to check the torque of the mounting bolts too.
When I park I sort of cup the stand with the inside of my boot and push forward. Once the locking tab is in place the bike it not going anywhere.
