Winter storage ?

Winter storage ?
I know this has been beat to death.. But I traded in my 93 anniversary wide glide this past August for a 2008 anniversary ultra classic with 8k on it. I always changed the oil/filter, fogged the cylinders and removed the battery and kept it charged in the basement. Now this new bike has the Syn 3 in it, and it was just changed when i picked it up. I have added about 800 miles on it with the new oil. Do you guys think i need to change the syn3 again for the layup? Or should I change it when I hit the 5k mark on the oil. Its a lot more $$ now than my old bike was for the oil. I keep the bike outside in a wooden shed that is not heated. Another question, If i kept a trickle charge on the battery say every 2 weeks would the battery still hold up with the cold temps or will it die out by spring. I plan on getting a new one in the spring anyway because this one is the original. thanks Jeff

I'd still change oil - can save some $$$ & put regular (non-Synth) for winter. Even w/little miles - moisture builds & can affect bearings. Also, get the Deltran battery tender (find online for under $20) to hold battery charge over winter, or just remove battery for winter & get the new one when spring riding starts.

Engine oil change, top off tank, Seafoam instead of Stabil, put up on lift if possible, battery tender. Come back in 5 months...unless you have mods planned.
If you already have a trickle charger, here is a trick. Screw an outlet into one of the light sockets on the garage door opener and plug into that. You get a 3 minute trickle charge every day when you back out the cage.
