To the OP: you've gotten some great advice. You could follow that... or... just ride it over and store it in my garage for the winter. Just don't write down the odometer. ;-)
I don't plan on riding mine much for the rest of the season. I gave it a good wash and wax, parked it in the garage and hooked it to the battery tender. I'll change the oil in the spring when I come up on the milage.
I have about 300 miles on the bike since my last oil change ... syn oil. I plan on topping off the tank, adding stabil, plugging in the battery tender and putting it up on the jack. Worked fine for me last year on the old bike.
