$25 per hour for 6 hours = $150. I have a retired indy who will do that for me. I realize most shops have a labor rate of $60-$90 per hour depending on your neighborhood, but you can still get a good dyno for $150 with the right guy. My local Harley shop says about $400.

If the tuner is experienced and has tuned bikes with the same or nearly the same build, intake, and exhaust as your bike, he can get a very good tune in about two hours.

Ask the guy what his methodology is and if he has tuned bikes with the same or highly similar set-up as your bike. Also ask him what mpg his customers have had post tune.

Good luck.

When I had my my '06 Road Glide tuned I was told that almost a tank of fuel was used.Cost $400 but ran great until I sold it.

Mine also had a SERT.Maybe some tuner brands take a longer or shorter amount of time to dial in.

I would be concerned with him telling you "one hour". The price isn't a big deal, I had Jamie at fuelmoto dyno mine and he only charged me 195.00 which is a lot cheaper than many other places. But he also didn't get it done in an hour.

Well he did say about an hour. I guess it all depends on the about part.

I had mine done in a little over an hour, when they were running a special. My Map from Fuelmoto was close so he was able to dial it in and fine tune if for me. Got extra power and better fuel economy when he was done.

Guess it depends on how close the map that is in the bike to where your bike is on how long it will take. Also helps if the guy really knows what he is doing. If he has a good reputation I would say go for it...If you can't find anything out about him, then, I would save the money and find someone who has a good reputation.....This Forum is a great source for that...
