Mine was broke where it mounted. I tywrapped it up for a couple years or so. Finally replaced it. Was shocked to find out it was only $30 something, and made by Harley.
A little late to this thread. I'm having the same issue with mine. Tightening up that plastic adjuster does nothing. Hard starting this morning until I realized the choke had opened back up. Fired up as soon as I held the cook closed. Using a clamp right now. Hard to get a wrench back behind to loosen up that back nut without the fear of breaking a cylinder fin.
Finally got it figured out but I’ve to a n ew cable on order. I adjust the rear mounting nut so I could properly adjust the plastic adjuster, but, my plugs started fouling very quickly because the choke wasn’t fully releasing. Hope the new choke cable won’t be as finicky.
