My friends had been bugging me to get a new ride for the past few years and when I saw the 2011 purple and black I knew it was the one. I had a 2000 Road King in Concord Purple that I just loved years ago. I traded a 2006 Ultra in Cobalt Blue with a color matched inner fairing that was a beaut also. I will say the 2006 Ultra had a smoother ride than the 2011 Limited though.

 

I know this is an old post but having owned the same color, Psychedelic Purple on my 2011 FLHX this was an entertaining post to say the least. The color causes many interesting comments, most of which were made in this thread. A couple of the best were the african american in a beat up old toyota that raced up to me down the road from Bartletts in LA yelling out the window how bad *** he thought the color was.

My bike is ember red and merlot. That was actually my 3rd choice, color-wise. Since it's a 2012, the black ice was not available (yeah, it's kinda purple) and a limited in the psychedelic purple wasn't either, so I got what I got. I am very happy with it, but it wouldn't have been my first choice. Nice looking bike.

 

For the people that bust on a purple bike, especially the resident ******* captain, those people are simply not in strong enough terms with their masculinity, perhaps a bit skeered to be so bold. That color rocks and I know chicks dig it!!!

 

Looks like the OP loved it so much he traded it in on a CVO Ultra 2012.
