Answer to my Letter to Customer Service
I wrote a letter on Saturday to Harley's customer service and I can not believe that a got a phone call today. He enlightened me on the fact that if you put anything on your bike that Harley does not sell you, they will not warrant your bike. If your dealer sells you a Power Commander on your bike they are supposed to tell you that the electronic parts on your bike are not warranted by MOCO. I have had a lot of problems with my 09 SEUC with only 16000 miles and pretty much was told they want not do anything about it but to continue working on the parts that are still warranted. Also guys if you buy the extended warranty and they find out about your mods, they will not pay for the repairs.

Certainly I am no expert on the subject, but I have to suspect that they will not warranty issues that are directly related to "Non Moco" components. I cannot believe it would render the entire warranty null and void - not doubting what you are saying but just not convinced they could take such a stance legally

I agree. I don't know what problems your having, but if your dealer sold and installed aftermarket parts on your bike and now won't take care of issues thats a big problem. Now that the MOCO knows about it, I don't know what can be done. I wish you luck.

Of course! If you or your dealer replaces your stock exhaust with a Rinehart exhaust system, the MoCo is not going to warranty the Rinehart system. If your motor blew, the MoCo would still have to warranty it, or prove it blew because of the Rinehart's.

As far as I can recall MOCO has always walked away if you did any mods on your bike.
If you don't keep it stock they will not honor the warranty.
Some dealers will tell you if you modify you are on your own some will not.
Some dealers will do mods for you and still cover the warranty by not telling MOCO but if they get caught they are in deep you know what.
Years ago the warranty was so short and didn't cover much you didn't care and did what you wanted.
Now the warranty is so long you don't want to wait to do things to your bike. When you do and it's still under warranty you could fall right into the trap.
