do it. you will love it. i had a RK for three weeks, rode an Ultra Classic and trade my RK on the spot. i went out for a ride on my blue bike, came home with a red one. the wife was pissed until she saw where she was going to be sitting. then everything was all good.

i love my Ultra, has all the comforts of home and still a nice looking scooter.

check out my pics. my wife calls her the Red *****, because i spend every extra penny i have on her and want to spend all my time with her.

me too - I love the Fat Bob but i knew the EG ticked more boxes for me re long distance touring. Ive ridden an FB on 3 diff demos and love it to bits - a lot lighter than the EG so i'd be demoing an EG for a good time before i'd pull the trigger.

Well if you've got your eyes on one, go for it.

I'm on a Street Glide, an 09 and my first HD [2nd bike].

I love it, I've looked and there isn't much more in the P&A catalog I need to get...

The Standard doesn't have a Radio, I really enjoy mine on long trips especially. As well does it have cruise control?

Is it used or new?

But it will be different, I've demo'd most everything HD makes. I'm not a superstar by anymeans, but I know the fairing will be an adjustment. Lots of folks prefer Road Kings for the lack of fairing, some prefer road glides for the fixed fairing.

I don't think you can go wrong, but a Street Glide is lowered stock. More chrome. Stereo, and the filler panels, nicer tail light, tri-light, clean front [no aux lights]. but blah blah blah, I don't know the full story on the bike youve got your eyes on...

They are nice, they are a little heavy in city traffic, but so far I'm doin fine. They are SWEET on long hauls. When I bought mine in 08 it was EGClassic or the SG. The fancier SG won out over the Tourpak equipped EGC. [I got a tourpak earlier this year]

Best of luck.

H

TairaL...here's a pic of my 5'5" wife flat-footed on our '03 w/Progressive 440s at the stock height (not lowered). If you haven't already made the plunge, go for it...you're gonna love it!

They don't made the standard any more but there are still news ones around.
I bought the standard because of the cost. Didn't want all the bing and I'm ok with the less flasher motor. I added an aftermark stereo for $500 and a few accessories but saved thousands.

But three years now I'm wishing I'd bought the Ultra. I like the tour pak and my friends use their CB's. But to add them now would be $$$$$. I did buy a chopped tour pak today with my Christmas money <grin> Don't anyone tell the wife what they cost !!!
