It's a good idea to take one for a test ride. I do believe you will fall in love with it. It is surprisingly agile, even at slow speeds. Very easy to ride, very comfortable. Take a look at the Classic version, pretty nice.

As stated test it out, be sure are comfortable with it, do a few slow turns in a parking lot and cat walk it backwards and forwards while once moving, the comfort is a breeze but be sure are confident being able to hold it up on an incline comfortably.. Talking quite a bit more weight..

I had an 06 standard and I did spend a few dollars blinging it up and turning it into a Street Glide, but I don't regret spending one penny of it.It was a unique ride and never gave me a minute of trouble. The last 2 pics here are of it.

I went from a softail standard to the glide and after a few miles I wondered why I even had a softail. I really liked the softail compared to the sporty before, but wow what a difference from the softail to the glide.

Go for it girl. I think you will like the ride. You might find yourself riding places you didn't go before. The ride is much more smooth and the only problem you might have is the center of balance. It will be higher and the bike will seem top heavy. Actually it is, but you should be able to adjust to that.
If you find the bike too much for you, you can always trade again.
Have a safe ride, BUT RIDE!

If I'm not mistaken, the Electra Glide Standard is no longer available.

Seat is wide and higher. I went from a 1200c to the Classic. I was actually planning on buying the Fat Bob. After riding the EGC I know I made the right choice. If I ever get a second bike it will be the Fat Bob. I suggest you rent one for a day and you will know right away. They handle much better than I expected. Enjoy.
