I don't know if this is true, but my local Harley dealer said if I run anything other than HD oils it voids my warranty. What has everyone else heard?

Your dealer is wrong. It is against the law for a manufacturer to void the warranty for oils. Also if you read your owners manual you will see HD suggests using diesel rated engine oil in the bike.

Redline is good oil. It is one of the few Group V synthetics readily available on the market which, as I've read, should give it an edge when it comes to dealing with high heat.

I put Redline 20W-50 in the engine & it seems to run a bit quieter. The tranny is definitely quieter with Shockproof than with any other brand, and the clutch feels about the same with MTL as with others...

I have Redline with 20w50 in the motor, Redline Shockproof in the tranny. I still prefer the HD Formula+ in the primary as the clutch plates IMO are a source of problem so I go with what I use. I was Mobil 1in the motor and tranny prior, but feel Redline, Mobil and Amzoil are three very good products.

P.S. I use HD oil filters, but the Mobil 1 and K&N are probably equals

Do a search on the Moss-Magnuson Warranty Act.

They cannot simply void your warranty...Federal law protects your right to use whatever fluids you wish from any source as long as they meet the appropriate standards.

I can't believe some liars and thieves are still trying to get away with this sort of crap.

I posted this before, but I ran 2500 miles with about an ounce of Redline Shock in the tranny. Should have been 24 ounces. Long story short the tranny is fine and I just got back from 2200 Sturgis trip where our hiway speeds varied from 70 to 100 through Nebraska. I am sold, period. Even throw-out bearing is quiet!

Raporte, sorry but I've got to know. How did you manage to end up with 1 ounce in the tranny and ride 2500 miles before realizing it?

I also use and preach Redline Synthetic products in all three holes.

Engine has 20W50
Primary has Redline MTL
Transmission has Redline H/D Shockproof.

Since changing to this product 3 months ago, I have yet to hear the transmission make any noise at all and would tell you it shifts much smoother, and also runs a lot cooler. If you haven't made the switch yet...then get on her man!
