On my old RK, I went to the Polaris dealer and bought some inserts that they use on snowmobiles. I think they were about 39.95, but they only have a high and a low setting. They worked fine for me for about 8 yrs.
I believe the brand was Polly heaters, I just wired them into my acc. switch.

See Dawg's post #10.

That's Pilot Mountain from Hwy 52. Near Mount Airy -- Andy Griffith's hometown.

Kuryakyn makes this for Goldwing grips. It's a clamshell that fits over the existing grip. I don't think they make anything for harley. It would be nice if they did. It is an expensive, PIA I would think to change over the grips.

Thanks for the info. Those clamshell grips look good, but the Harley heated grips have the controller on the end of the grip and these Kuryakyn grips have closed ends. I don't think they will work with the Harley heated grips.

I know we would have to buy a complete HD heated grip kit (with wiring) if we want to change from our stock grips. I don't mind buying a kit that comes with all the wiring, I just don't want to have to change the wiring. It would be great if the heated grips unplugged from the wiring at the grip end of the wiring harness. Does anyone know if this is possible?

I too have ugly grip disease. I'm going to Check with Iron braide and see if they can wrap them, If that dont work I thought about getting some stingray leather and wrap them in that, Just a thought.

The wiring harness is attached to one of the grips, it plugs into the other... So technically no you would have to rewire them. But, you probably (I haven't tried) could cut the harness and splice the new ones in, if you do that I'm pretty sure they won't warranty them and I have seen quite a few fail.

I'm thinking bout trying a set of heat demons, but honestly thing the gerbing heated liners would do better than a heated grip. And if you have more than one scoot you can easily have your gloves with you on any without a complete reinvestment.

On really cold days palms of the hands are warm, and the tops are cold.

Thanks for the info. Probably could splice it, but at $300 I'd hate to void the warranty.

I've been looking at a new Limited for a while now, & that is a question I've asked both sales & service. They say for now it would require a complete install on a new set of heated grips.

The stock grips are not only too plain, but for me they are too small in diameter.

I might try some leather wraps. They add some diameter and don't look as plain.
