Default What is the actual capacity of the 6 gal fuel Tank?

OK this weekend I pushed the bike to 219.9 miles before refilling on base. After this I pumped in 5.1 gallons then the pump handle shut off. I could have pushed a little more in but I knew I was going to park and cover the bike. I did not want the gas to heat up, expand, and drip out he tank overflow. On this 2010 model the gauge shows empty for about 35 miles THEN the fuel light comes on. Then I show about 35 miles remaining. On the2008 Ultra I used to have it was a little different. The warning light came on when there was about 1/8 of a tank on the gauge. Now I wonder is there room for six Gallons and EXPANSION? Please let me know what you know. I do not like the thought of running it dry to find out.

Thanks all!

I've put 5.8 gallons into mine but the gauge acts like yours.

This question has been asked before a while ago. I seem to recall one member got over 6 gallons in his, without running out.

Maybe I'm lucky WRT gauge reading versus warning light - light comes on roughly one needle width above zero. Of course maybe both are wrong about how much gas is really still in there.

Either way, I've never been able to squeeze more than 5.3 gal into her when she's on the side stand, even if I've stretched her out to the max (225 miles or so on I-State at 70-80 MPH). Wouldn't know about a centerstand fill-up though.

ETA: Just a Stage 1 D/L with SEAC and SuperTrapp muff.

It would be good to know for sure, i never let mine get low enough. Just not enough fuel stations around here to dare try. Normally around 200 miles i'll fill up no matter where the gauge is. I don't remember ever seeing the low fuel light before?

We could do with a volunteer to brim their tank full, then ride until it stops, then brim it again! Or empty the tank and fill it right up. Anyone?!

How true. Would be good to actually know how accurate and repeatable the gauge really is. WRT the light, IMHO it's ok but it's just a doo-dad that might wake me up some day - maybe good to have but...
