What is the actual capacity of the 6 gal fuel Tank?

Your mileage should improve at around the 5000 mile mark as the engine gets broken in. Of course, a lot depends on your riding style load, and environmental conditions.

I have a 2009 flhx streetglide ride daily. 11,000 miles i have put as much as 5.9 gal in fuel light comes on at 39 miles. at 12 mte (mile to empty) lo reading comes on have went another 8 or so miles. didn't want to push...lol topped off at 5.9 or so gal. at that time mte recalulated to 247 miles. i have a 10" longride sheild if i have stock sheild on and run a couple of tanks full through i have gotten as much as 264 miles to a tank. so i beleive shield, how you ride and roads can make a difference. i ride atlease 50mi per day back and forth to work and i fill up on the 5th day. 6 gal a week. beats a cage any day.

Assuming the tank's capacity is 6 Gallons my experience with the newer touring bikes has been that the "Reserve Light" comes on with about a gallon left and the "Lo Light" comes on with about a half gallon left.
When I fill it all the way up the fuel guage's digital readout says it's gonna be right around 220 miles until I hit Reserve.
That would be 43 mpg average with a cruising range of 260 miles.
That's pretty much the MPG I'm getting riding 2 up at "reasonable" speeds.
That sound right to the rest of ya ?
