Default Left side Stereo is out

I'm sure that the question has been asked before but i can't seem to find the thread. The left side of my stereo will not play. I've checked the speaker and it is working. There is no balance L/R to play with. I have a 2001 FLHT. The stereo has a cassette and aux input. Any ideas?

The speaker may be good, but you might have a frayed wire shorting the signal. You can also call Radio Sound, (502) 267-6768, and ask for their customer service. RS was HD's vendor for your radio.

You can also use a 1 volt test light on the wire going to the speaker. If there is current then the problem is the speaker. If there is no voltage the problem is most probably an internal capacitor. If it were a bigger problem then the radio would not play at all.
Hope this helps. Dwayne

i talked with Radio Sound service department. Very helpful! They have an exchange program. phone them and get permission to ship the broken receiver and $200 and they send a reconditioned unit to you! It sure beats paying for a brand new unit. thanks for the help!
