I shipped my 78 FLH Federal Express NY to Maui in 1989 all I did was empty the fuel and disconnect the battery shipped on a new bike shipping pallet I got from the dealer $1800 dollars and 3 days later I was riding in paradise.

I shipped a bike from New York to Kauai and another bikde from Kauai to Seattle. The first bike I purchased a motorcycle crate packed in myself I didn't drain the tank or disconnect the battery, the second bike I put on a Harley pallet and then had a crate built around it so I could pack my belongings with the bike, I did not drain or disconnect anything and both bikes I road away from the shippers yard.
