Question DIY true duals...

I know you can get the kit from fullsac, but I saw a member on here that did his own with some "Blanks".. Anyone do their own kit and any pics floating around ?

you can remove the heat shield on the rear right side down pipe. carefully remove about 4 inches of the center of that pipe where it is round not oval. take that piece to a parts house to use to get Chevrolet freeze plugs that size that are a tight fit. drive them in both ends of the exposed pipe. reinstall the heat shield. $1.50 true duals.

I am currently working on doing just that.. I picked up the freeze plugs yesterday and I just now pulled off the heat shield and started marking the pipe. Keep your fingers crossed that it turns out well...

exactly!! you can take a little more out of the pipe if you like making it easier to put the freeze plugs in. i ran mine for over 50K miles with no issues. the cut off ends will build up pressure so the exhaust will go by smoothly.

I was just wondering if you were spraying grinding dust/sparks all over your bike.

You'll want to take the y-pipe off the bike to cut it.
