Demo rode three bikes yesterday. First ride was the Street Glide. Ride was OK. Definitely not better than a RG. Motor was strong but not stronger enough for me to run right out and buy an 07. 6 speed: useles unless you planning on riding on the highway at 90-95. It lugged way to much at 65-70. Second ride was Road king. Way better ride than the SG. Defintely as good as a RG. Should be. Motor same. Trans same. Handlebars sucked. Third ride was Night Rod. This demo had a leader in front and a guy in the back and we went as a group. I was kinda of pissed about this but I figured oh well its a ride. I was way wrong. He took us thru town and right out to the highway. I held back a little on the on-ramp and then dropped the hammer. Ran it up to 95 in third and shut it down about 115 in fourth. There was a lot more throttle in it. Im sure this bike will run 150 easy. My sole intention was to ride this bike and then buy one as a brother to my RG. However after riding it I think im gonna pass. Bottomline: Just not enough reason to buy a new touring bike. And for the bar hopper Ill just build one.

 

Rode a demo 07 yesterday. Got off, climbed back on my 05, and never looked back. I think I'll keep my bike forever.

 

I would'nt mind the blacked out Night Rod Special, 240 rear....as my spare bike. At least it's got a proven/tested drivetrain!
