I like riding gear. I've got 3 Schott jackets and 2 Vansons. Also a vintage Brooks jacket, and 2 HD jackets, both made in China. One of the HD ones is a mesh jacket with a lightweight leather sheath. It's pretty versitile, and I'll likely keep it for a long while. The FXRG just doesn't get as much use as the other jackets in my closet. In fact, if someone wants to swap a Vanson B or D in a 50 or 52 for my 2X FXRG, I'd be happy to do that.

I think I'd be happier with the jacket if it had a decent main zip. I like heavy duty zips that I can manage with my gloves on. I just don't see why HD cheaped out on the zippers on their flagship jacket. They have less expensive jackets with better zippers. My fox creek chaps have great zippers, and I imagine their jackets have similar ones.

I finally saw one while at a Dallas-area dealer a couple weeks ago. It is very heavy leather and gives one quite a sense that it would offer much protection in the event of a slide. It fit well and looked good. Also, it was almost impossible to get it unzipped so it could be tried on. I literally spent a couple minutes just getting it unzipped and then after putting it on I couldn't get it to zip correctly. I felt like a four year old: more so after my wife said "here, let me zip you up", but she couldn't do it either. At some point the zipper did mesh and the jacket seemed fine until it was time to unzip it again, which took awhile. It seems that those who have complained about the zipper have a resonable complaint.
For a $600.00 jacket, or even a $600.00 jacket on Ebay for only $300.00, this is a situation that should not exist. I own Legendary, Schott, and Vanson and all have very heavy zippers that are well-made. Other than the fact that it didn't "work", the FXRG seems like a great jacket .

Guess I've never had problems with the zipper. Love the fact that you can zip it open from the bottom. Also with the liner in there are 3 zippers to close which completely blocks cold air from coming in.

This did seem to be a nice feature and the internal zippers were no problem at all. I'm sure it would be very warm and windproof.

Love my FXRG, as has been stated, warm into the 30's and cool to 80.
Great fit and protection to boot. Expensive but for me, well worth it.

I bagged one a couple years ago for $250 shipped from a guy who only wore it a couple time, best money I spent. I've ridden in more dang rain, sleet, hail & snow with it and never got wet or cold.

Yep, love mine... About the best leather jacket to have in Alaska. Picked up one for Momma on craigslist for $100!! I ride the FXRG boots too. They equally as awesome as the jackets.
