I noticed on my test ride that polarized glasses really mess up your view through the windshield. Does that kinda rainbow glare effect.

The extra $ that you spend on top-quality lenses will make a huge difference in
The comfort of your eyes. Less headaches and eye strain. I was a sceptic till I bought a pair of Wiley x transitionals. The extra comfort let me ride many more miles than with plain polarized glasses. The air filters also add more comfort on dry or windy days I spent 150 on mine and take care of them like they were gold. 10000+ miles with one pair so far.
The key is eye fatigue is greatly reduced.

Bolle Recoil with polarized lenses for sunny days and 7Eye Taku with photochromic lenses for cloudy/rainy and night riding.

I buy the cheapies at Walmart or from a bike rally. Dealerships have a good sunglasses for around 20 bucks also. They are just fine and if I loose them or they get scratched it's no big deal.

I went through a whole bunch of different types, styles and options. I ended up with a pair of Panoptyx and then a bit later another pair when the name was changed to 7-eye. I have been very happy with them both.

+1 on the Wiley X SG-1. And they have a new V-cut which will reduce the size. Great glass/goggle converters. Have two pair, dark and clear for long rides. Use Oakley M-frame for town riding. Wear ballistic or wear nothing. If you aren't wearing ballistic you are just adding shrapnel to whatever hits and breaks your non-ballistic glasses. Recommend newer lenses as well as most old lenses have anti-mist coating on the outside which scratched. Since 2010, most are putting the anti-fog on the inside where it doesn't scratch as easily.
