Metzeler 140/70/21 anyone currently running this tire
I am installing this on my 2010 CVO Street Glide this weekend and am interested in what method was used on the stock fender.
Hogpro and Covington Customs make fender adapters but have only been tested on the 120/70/21 tires?
This tire has a larger contact patch and should deliver a better ride?
The CVO fender is 3/4" shorter than the stock Street Glide fender.
The radius bracket to bracket is 15" on the CVO and 16.5" on the Stock Street Glide
Any input is welcome (except other tire options)\ as this is the path I've chosen and paid for)
If you are aware of another source for an adapter bracket it would be very helpful. If not I may be making my own?

Hogpros brackets will not work with the CVO fender been in contact with them. I am waiting on delivery of an adapter for CVO bikes from Covington Customs.
Also found that FBI offers one for CVO Street / Road Glides in their catalog but no dimensions are posted?
At this time keeping the factory rims

Metzeler tires are less prone to expansion when hot than Avon so be aware that the tire may expand and allow for it.
To use the new 140/70/21 tire you need fender adapter brackets to raise the stock fender 1.75" to clear. (CVO Street Glides need 2.5") this tire is an inch taller and an inch wider than the stock 130 tire.
I believe the brackets from HogPro and Covington are 1.5 (at least the ones I bought were) not sufficient to clear the tire. You could call them to see if they currently offer the taller adapters.
You could also buy a 23" fender and solve the situation if that's your preference.
After now having put several thousand miles on the 140 I can say it rides smoother than the stock did. I attribute this to the extra width it does not track tar strips as the stock did. While nothing smooths Indiana potholes they do not appear to jar as much but of course that is relative to the size of the hole. The taller wheel task the smaller ones in stride.
In general I am very happy with the ride and love the look.
