I use the heating packs from MRE's they keep you really warm

The key decision factor for me was price. Gear was way cheaper than grips.

You'll love the Gerbing heated in-soles. Just make sure you have a way to control them or at least a switch to turn them off. Got to be in the 30's down here to use them and they still get too hot. Sure beatd the hell out of cold feet.

Nice thing about gloves is you can wear them on another bike...it's easy to wire it up for them....

I want a pair and will get some...rode in 17 degrees in the NC mountains and had heated socks and wow...toasty toes make for a cozy ride...
the insoles seem to be better for walking....don't feel the wires.

I wired the glove harness into my jacket between the liner and the outershell, so now there is no more wiring the jacket - just plug the gloves in and go. Thinking of getting the heated insoles too - 3 hrs in the upper 30's on saturday definitely froze my feet.

The dual controller is well worth the money, being able to regulate the heat.

thanks - just ordered the gerbing insoles last night, going to give them a try with just a splitter from the same on/off switch as my gloves and see if that works until after the christmas bills are paid....

was 20* (or lower) with winds gusting 25-35 and light snow blowing around this morning on the way into DC....my hands stay thawed out with the glove liners, but gotta admit the grips are cold and that does soak through to my hands. I'm thinking of adding the heated grips to ensure my hands are warm down to single digits if necessary (at some point I know ice and salt will park me for a few weeks...but I'll delay that as long as needed to stay off public transportation!)

No wires will be felt in the in-soles. Also if you have a dual controller, the glove **** also controls the feet

Based on the cost and unreliability of the heated grips, I have decided to go with the heated gloves.

I have a hand with 2 bad fingers so gloves are a problem, (bent pretty bad) a set of heat demons and a set of Black atv slip on covers with the sheep skin fur inside ($15 at wally world and come off and on in about 15 seconds) I had to cut them which was just a simple slit to go around the mirror, I ride with the light brown cotton work gloves you can buy at any service station for a $1.99 and have ridden the last week in the lower teens (30 miles to work) and my hands are comfy! Just my 2 cents for anyone who has heated grips and would like some more comfort on those cold but pretty days.
