A little rant!!
I ordered and received two sets of Brukus MP Saddlebag Secure last Friday.
Installed one set on my Son’s ’04 FLHX-SE. The other set went on my own bike.
Everything went as it was supposed to go. Quality was good. Installation took all of a half hour for each bike.
Here’s the rub!!
While at my local NAPA Auto Parts store today picking up ‘stuff’ for an oil & filter change on my truck, I happened to notice a rack of fasteners along one wall. Being curious, I started looking through the nuts & bolts.
Now I paid $46.40 for the two sets (includes shipping) from Brukus…
NAPA was selling the same stuff for:
5/16” Ford blind nut .24 ea X 4 = .96
5/16”x13/8” SS button head screw .60 ea X 4 = 2.40
5/16” SS lock washer .10 ea X 4 = .40
5/16” SS fender washer .15 ea X 4 = .60
Hex head allen wrench .95 ea X 1 = .95
TOTAL COST $5.21 + local sales tax
These are not 'discounted prices'. I talked to the manager of the store and he tells me that if I were buying them in quainities of 100 or more, he would give me a 25% discount! Now I don’t mind a fellow making a little profit on his goods, but 200% + seems a bit out of line to me!!!

aaahhhh yup. that's what some of us mentioned in a post a few months ago.
I guess all you can do is enjoy the benefits and don't think about it too much.

That was just plain robbery!!! Ten bucks would have been plenty to ask for a package of bolts!!! He damn sure won't be getting any more of my money...or from any of my friends!!

I don't like to over-pay either, but if the product prevents any of your saddlebags from being stolen it will be the best $46 bucks you ever spent! Live and learn; take a ride and forget about it.
