Full leather pants. Much more protection than chaps. Look better. Someone posted they wear leather chaps over leather pants in bad, cold, wet conditions.
Does anyone make a leather patch to cover the area around the crotch not covered by chaps? and yes, I'm a hang around. I just read alot.
Check out textile riding pants. More comfortable in heat (if they are vented and you just wear shorts under them) than jeans. More comfortable than chaps in the cold or rain with the liner installed. And way more protective than chaps as they have armor in knees and hips and abrasion protection on seat and hips. The three common strike/wear points in a crash are your knees, hips and side of upper legs, and seat - chaps only cover your knees. Over pants have zippers up the side so you can zip them over jeans and boots next to your bike like chaps. Armor helps prevent tumbling injuries to your knees and hips. 1000 denier Cordura has the same abrasion resistance rating as 1.3mm leather used in most leather gear. 600 denier Nylon about 1/2 of leather. Heavy jeans about 1/15 of leather.
