Thumbs up Road King owners with Marine Remote audio controls

Soooooo......

From PM's and emails, there are more RK owners that got the Sony Marine Commander for their radios, and it looks like they are very pleased with the way they work. (even though Sony says it doesn't work, hehehe)

I have not changed my mount yet, but I intend to make a plate out of 1/4" aluminum that can move the remote a little more to the left, and put in a chromed gauge cup in the back, with a hole for the wires.

Anybody else with a different idea for a mount?

Anybody got the digital Commander?

It would probably be easy to read this one in direct sunlight. Mine is the old one, no readout.

This was a great find and they work great! I will be ordering another one to experiment with. Since the wires run straight out the back, and not the side, I'll be looking to modify that. Since my conversion is near complete, I'll be moving the ignition up to the fairing cap, like the batwings, and will have the opening in my tank dash that looks to be a perfect spot to place this unit and be able to hide all wiring. Unless I can figure a way to incorporate this into a hand control set up.

Jon,

Did you get the same one I have, or the digital?

What kind of front fairing are you using? Looks great.

Thanks. Its a Dead Center. I painted the inside fairing with a rattle can of shrink black paint and I run a heat gun on it before the paint dried up. It looks like the wrinkle finish in the transmission cases, lol.
