Default Road King Wind Deflector

I have the standard windshield on a 2010 Road King. There seems to be some wind coming up from the bottom of the windshield and hitting me in the face. This is not bad in the summer, but as winter approaches I would like to deflect the wind around the bike.

Has anyone tried the chrome Harley wind deflectors? They look like they hook to the fork and right behind the turn signals. It looks like an easy install and the price seems reasonable. How well do they work?

I used 2 things on my 2 road kings that seemed to help a lot in the cold. I still use them on my '08 EGC. First is the fork deflectors.

58121-85B

Second is the fork baffle.

58520-79TC

I put these on in the fall when it cools down, then take them off in the spring.

They really make a difference in wind I feel.

Also, if you want to really block wind, add a set of soft, or hard lowers. Really extends the riding season here in NE.

Does the baffle also assist in reducing any buffeting?

Theres a wind deflector that bolts to the underside of the triple trees that is supposed to help quite a bit. Dont know the pn though.

In the Harley world that wind deflector is called the fork baffle.

As to the buffeting, yes, it helps, at least it helps me,

I know mine is older but the principles are the same as are the lines of the RK, I went to the baffle first and was better, then to the fork side deflectors and finally to full fairing, lowers and the above. Everything works to an extent but don't expect one to cure all the turbulence or the lack of one to be fixed by the others.

I opted to as far as I have gone for my own comfort, I did sacrifice a little as far as the open feeling of a RK and still may have been better off with a EG or an Ultra. One caution, the side fork deflectors do pick up on turbulence around large objects as RVs' and trucks, it can be a little disconcerting as to the twitch in the front end as you come up behind them from that.

Default I have a 09 RK

The fork deflectors helped a lot, the baffle was useless. I will be getting the soft lowers for the colder weather.
