Default EVO Remove & Twin Cam It ??

Simple question but the answer might get complicated. I have been thinking of getting a 1998 EG w/EVO motor , only has 27K miles , Bike is like a New penny , never have seen a mint old bike like this one, It was taken care of for a long time. I have been told by many in this Forum that when you go to make an EVO quicker because of the Fuel Injection (MM Injection ) it does not take to engine changes(cam- valves -rocker work ?) but Exhaust or Air intake was fine and NO PROBLEMS . Can I put in a twin or a 103-110 or any Twin engine that is a done up engine and will it just fit in OR will it not at all and I must stay with the EVO ?

Evo is a great motor. It'd leave it.

As far as I know the engine mounts on the case are different but they are some companies out there that make twin cams with evo mounts. Good luck!

Default A '98 EVO w/27K !!

Hell, That motor doesn't hardly have the rings set yet!!!

EVO's are strong old motors. They respond very well to any 'normal' mods (cam, compression, displacement, A/C, exhaust, EFI tuner, etc.). Some have experienced problems with lower base gaskets, but mine are still holding.

I have a 'warmed over' '88 with lots of enjoyed miles on it and am looking forwared to many more. It has a lot more 'snap' than my '05 T/C!!

The MM FI system is the same as the early TC's. I have the MM FI, and was able to mod mine fairly well, so I think the EVO should be fine.

as far as the MMEFI you can find a PCIII and cure that problem.......but if it ever starts having idling issues then just remove the EFI and put a carb on.......that was what i did.

Cool thing about evos is you can replace them with any aftermarket evo style motor, S&S, ultima... I'd say get a 100" plus ultima motor for cheap and throw it in there if you need a new motor. Or hell get an el bruto 127 in there and you d be set
