This stuff really pisses me off! The dead rider helped a friend of ours; saved a couple of her really badly burned fingers and was a miracle worker in his field. The low life murder was released on a $25,000 bond, WELCOME TO TEXAS!!!! DUI at 7am what's wrong with this story?
Not sure the link will work so here's the short version:
DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21)
Justin Heaton was charged with intoxication manslaughter in the death of nationally known burn surgeon Gary F. Purdue.
A nationally renowned burn surgeon at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Hospital was killed Sunday morning by a suspected drunken driver, Dallas Police officials said.
Dr. Gary F. Purdue, 65, was traveling northbound on a motorcycle at 7:20 a.m. Sunday in the 10400 block of Webb Chapel road when Justin Heaton, 24, ran a stop sign and smashed into Purdue's bike, sending him flying through a backyard fence, police said. Heaton, who was driving a 1989 Jeep Comanche, then slammed into a second vehicle. ..Heaton had been drinking, said Senior Cpl. Kevin Janse of the Dallas Police Department. Officials are unsure if Purdue was wearing a helmet, but his family maintains that he was wearing protective pads and a helmet.
Heaton (the asswipe) has an extensive criminal record, including possession of a controlled substance and multiple instances of property theft. He was sentenced to two years in jail on March 15, 2006 and released on parole July 14, 2006. This is his seventh charge, and jail officials said he was out of jail on a $25,000 bond Monday night.

and i bet he is drinking this morning not even worried abut what he has done. these people dont think like normal people. they just dont care about anything and blame everyone and everything but themselves. sad thing is the courts dont seem to care either other than their conviction rates. they wont take a risk on a case if they cant win. this is why they plea bargain everything.
alls i can say is if that was my kid he just killed i would beg the judge to let him out on bail.... lots of holes need filling out in the dessert
