SSC users-Do the shields shake/vibrate bad at a stop?

I Have the 12" SSC which is equal to a 9" stock WS. I get a little vibration at a stop but not enough to warrant not using it. I look over my WS and I try to avoid stops. Nothing in this world is perfect. The question should be, "Does it vibrate at speed?". NO it does not. Who cares if it vibrates at idle, how long will you be at idle as opposed to riding?

My motor shakes a lot at idle too, but I didn't sell it.

UGGA...what size is the SSC in your post? What is the tint? I have the opaque 9" and the light tint 13". I've found the 13" to be about perfect for me, but would like something with a little darker tint and still be able to ride with at night. Also....wondering if a 12", (which is a 9") in actual size would be as effective as my 13. Any thoughts?
Glider,

The SSC in my sig pic is a 12" opaque black. I've also got an 11" and a couple of 13" SSC's. My 12" is not quite as effective as my 13", but it all depends on how high you sit in the saddle. As long as you are looking over the shield, I say go for the opaque black. If you get just the right height windshield, you will be looking over it and still have minimal turbulence.

The only reason that I have several different windshields is because I have different seats for the bike, and they have different seat heights. I also like going back and forth between the dark opaque and the dark smoke. I guess that I'm really moody when it comes to the style of my bike.

I love my Cee bailey windshield too... I was worried that lowering the shield would get me more buffeting, but that wasn't the case at all. I can easily go 80+ and be just fine. And now I can actually see over the windshield, lol

Not going to argue with the science behind the curves but they just look to me like it was ran through a radiation blast or something and the windshield started to melt.

Oh well to each his own.

Enjoy,

I think we share some similar traits. I don't think I've had the same seat on my bike for more than two weeks at any time. I did that with my last two bikes as well, until the Fatboy put a ton of miles on it. I swap out my Mustand Daytripper and then of course go to my 6" custom winged opaque shield, or maybe the dark tinted Fast Aire. I put on the Sundowner and I'm riding with the 10" Fast Aire, 13" Cee Bailey, and add the full anttenna for the hell of it Then I swap out my custom sculpted stock SG seat from BadX and I'm riding with the opaque 6" or as in right now the 13" Cee Bailey, hence the post. Unbelievable performing shield and I get more compliments than anything else. They do look better in person, I have to say. I'm gonna order a 12" opaque I think.

Would really like to get some info on Cee Bailey SSC windshield, Looks great on your SG, I just picked up my SG and the stock windshield is alittle to short, wind hits me rite in the eyes. I traded in my RK for the SG because I want to do more touring, and have been looking around for a new windshield, and so far the SSC is the nicest one I've seen.

Thanks. Leo
