Default Soft lowers, street glide what did I do wrong?

Put on my new soft lowers last night in prep for a cold ride to work this morning. Fully thinking I'd be nice and warm on my 45 min trip. Got about 5 miles from the house and had to pull over and take them off. It seemed they kept all the cold wind off my legs and feet by diverting it directly up my nose. They are the HD nylon lowers. Anyone else with similar problems or advise?

Get the adjustable HD wings that attach to your inner fairing and a set of the wind deflectors that attach to your forks and your feel no wind on your legs or body. I have those on my 09 SG and rode for the first time yesterday with the soft lowers and I was very impressed. Hardly no forward air movement at all and my oil temp didn't go past 230 degrees. Temps ranged from low 50's in the Am and upper 60's in the afternoon with no sun.

got all excited yesterday myself and put mine on my 06 road king for the first time. took them right back off today. this is my first twin cam. way too many noises going on for me. i guess it bounces back off of the lowers and back in my ears. even my wife asked me if something was wrong with the motor.

Not to be too blunt, but it sounds to me that these lowers are useless on their own. Can't use them above 50deg motor gets too hot, use them under 50deg and your face freezes and your head nearly shakes off. Maybe their better without a windshield or fairing. I expected with all the positive reviews surely I wouldn't need to buy anything else to make them useful.

I have soft lowers and use them almost all the time. Only time I don't use them is when its above 80 degrees. I don't have issues with them at all

hdv glide is right. The fairing wings, wind deflectors, and soft lowers, create a buffer free zone at any speed. Great thing is u can easley take off what riseing temps require.

I use these when it gets cold and haven't had any problems with the wind either, I do however wear a full face helmet when it gets cold enough outside "below 40 degrees" to use these.

Been using 'em for years with no complaints...Maybe that fork baffle that came stock on my 2000, but was left off in 2001 one is good for something after all.
