I went with the S&S 510G with S&S lifters and adjustable push rods. I am absolutely thrilled and cannot believe I'm getting this much power out of a carbed 88 with just a stage 1 and these cams. Recently outran a Victory Crossroads with a 106, which is not a slow bike by any means.

S&S 510's great in a lighter bike, not so great in a 88" bagger.
510's need a little compression bump on heavier bikes due to the later intake closing otherwise they can be a little soft down low. You bump the compression and it is a different story.
Somebody said about a carb and new cams you just need to jet the carb and the ignition will be fine.....I have never had any problems with mine and it is carbed and had 3 sets of cams in it.
I was thinking today and decided that amny are correct in that while I am in the chest and doing the upgrade already and I have the new bearings setting there just in case I needed them, that I may as well go ahead and add the cams. I was waiting for my stuff from Chicago HD, backordered on some minor things and had them lump the whole order up to save shipping costs, and add the cams also. They had a set of SE 204's on the shelf so I had them throw them in the box. Now when I get them and everything else at the same time.
