Default Under armour cold gear

Can anyone give me first hand experience on using Under Armour cold gear and the differences between all the different varieties they sell? I'm planning a trip next week and need to prepare for the ride. I have looked at so much of this stuff I can't figure out what the difference is other than the price.

The cold gear is a thicker material than the regular UA product. I use it and it does help but once the cold seeps through, I don't think there is anything you can do other than heated gear.

Pretty much. It's really good stuff, and it helps keep the wind off of you. Below a certain point it folds though.

I use UA Cold Gear when it gets cold. The stuff is supposed to fit you skin tight. Don't get a size that is too big. Above 45 degrees or so, I normally wear UA, a pair of jeans and my leather over pants. On the top so to speak, I wear UA, long sleeve t-shirt, a fleece zip up, and a leather coat. Somewhere below 45 degrees I break out the Gerbings in addition to the above if it is gonna be a long ride. FWIW, I like UA much better than conventional long johns...

I have used it running up and down the coast. All I can say it works for me.

On the other side of the spcetrum I use patagonia silk weight for real hot weather, but it also works as a great base layer when layering.

But most important when runing in extremes, When ever you are to hot or to cold stop and rest for a bit.

I used it last year, it had three different levels then, 1,2 and extreme. I used 1 &2 with jeans upper 40's I didn't need leathers at back road speeds of 50-60.
Go to UA website and they will have closeouts that will save you a buck, limited sizes and colors.

I have used the UA and it is OK in the cool temps 40 or so but up here when it gets cold we switch to Helly Hanson heavy thermals and a heated jacket thinsulate gloves and heated grips

****, dont have much to add but I did need to know the same last yr. My son
and wives rode from Chesapeake Va. to WV. last fall to go whitewater rafting.
What I got out most of the posts, one needs the UA biker shorts. So I bought
a pair for my son and I. They were a dose at $30. each, and an pain in the tuckis
as they have no open in the front. But they were money well spent. I will not
leave home without them in cold weather. Left many a morning with frost on the
pumpkin with just the biker shorts, jeans and leathers. Biker shorts and a ski
(neck) tube tucked into my leather jacket. Dont know what else to call it !!!
Its open on both ends and goes over the head and around the neck....Tenn.Vol..

I have both, the U/A cold gear and the LDComfort long sleeve shirt and long bottoms. I prefer the comfort of the LD, by far over the U/A. They seemed to perform about the same in the cold.

I use the cold gear for hunting and it works great, but never tried it for riding. The key for me in cold weather is "wind resistance" and I don't think the UA cold gear fits that bill alone. If you use it as an insulating layer and have something with wind resistance over top it might work out though if just your normal clothing under wind resistance items isn't enough.
