Gonna be our first time there also, from what Ive heard it is supposed to be a pretty good rally.

 

Lone Star is a great rally for shopping, partying and eating. The riding....it's an island, there isn't any. You can ride the coast across San Louis Pass to Freeport but there's really not much to see there. You can always ride up 146 to Kemah and have a great time at the Boardwalk. Bike parking right up front. The shopping at the rally is great for both the guys and the girls. Some thing for everyone and every taste. There are some great places to hang out. The Spot on the seawall always has some thing going on and a favorite of ours. Great food and three different bars in the same "Spot". The Crow on the strand is great and there are many other bars of all kinds on the Strand. The Strand get's a little irritating with the constant parade an dth constan racking of pipes. Gaido's is the best seafood on the Island. Woody's at the west end not far past the end of the seawall is a great biker bar. The newer Loading Dock near the strand is a nice biker bar as well. Unfortunately, hurricane Ike took out the historic Balanese Room and it is no longer there. The best part of the rally is everything is free....except the beer. The cops are great and unless you are being really really stupid, they will leave you alone to have a good time. Please stay on the island at night. Many bikers have lost their lives crossing the causeway and on I-45 leaving the rally at night. Either they were too drunk or a drunk in a cage took them out.

 

Yaga's on the Strand has great burgers. Willie G's right across Harbourside has good seafood. You can find plenty to eat right there. The Elissa is an old 1877 ship right there to tour. You'll enjoy it all. Have a great time! I'll be there.
