When you take your bike in for warranty work do you remove things like your PCV? Im worried it will affect my warranty if the see it.
Im aware of the Magneson Moss Act but Id like to avoid any hassles while under warranty.
Im with you on the 'avoiding the hassles' issue. I guess it'll depend on WHAT part of 'warranty' I'd be taking it in for.
I figure once they see it they will document it so even if the reason this time is not Engine related in the future they can still hold it against you. I used to be a mechanic for Toyota and we did that I just assume the mfg are all the same?
I would take it off and plug in your O2 sensors. I sent mine in for an ABS update and was told that my warranty was voided because it was on there. I am not sure if they add this info to my VIN# in the HD system. This was a German dealer so if they did add it I hope it was in German so when I get back to the states it won’t be an issue.
I think it depends on the individual dealer. I use three dealers here in the Atlanta area and have asked each whether the PCV voids the warranty. Each said "No" and were pleased to work on the bike, covering three warranty repairs without hesitation.
I also think the dealer has some discretion. My dealer sells and installs the Power Commanders. It has never been an issue for me. What ECM does your dealer sell and install?

Negative & never a problem. My guess is if your scoot's motor puked & they traced it to any upgrade (rare), they'd throw the void card. Fact of owning a bike - you're gonna install aftermarket items & HD can't complain, or they woul be shutting down service dept's everywhere due to lack in business.
