I just put a new metzeler 880 on my rear electra glide.Way better then the dunlop and watch out going bigger .It's the belt that rubs first, youll have plenty of room with the swing arm......

Michelin Commander are smooth...wears pretty good, Elite III long lasting but may cup if you don't watch the mileage...Avon And Metzeller grip great and are smooth but mileage suffers a bit...I have tried all of them except the ME880

Just went back to stock 402s, I did have Elite 3s on front and rear before and I absolutley hated them, noisey as hell, cupped horribley and developed a low speed wobble after a couple thousand miles on them. Only got 8500 miles out of the rear and the front wasnt to far behind it so i replaced both. I know I may be in the minority here but i wont ever go with elite 3s again.

Put Metzlers on the 09 road glide. The ride and the grip are well worth the suffering in mileage in my opinion. So much better riding than the stock Dunlops.

The mileage reference is usually talking about how many miles you get on a tire before it must be replaced. This is very subjective based on riding style but assuming the riding style (given the same rider) from one set of tires to another doesn't change it can be an indicator as to tire longevity.

I hat ME 880s on another Harley after the stock dunlops (2005 vintage) wore out and it was a great improvement.

I've owned 4 sets of ME880's. Two sets on my 02 Honda VTX, one set on my 04 VTX and one set on my 02 RKC. Got around 8000 miles on all of them. Someone else might get more than 9000 ( I change well before they get low on tread ). Everyone of them cupped badly. I know several others who delt with cupping. HOG PRO has wheels on special this month that I like but they come with the 880's. If they will switch tires I will order them, if not I MIGHT still order them. My 08 SG has almost 14,000 on the stock rear tire and I've had no cupping or any other issues. As far as handling goes I don't find any problems at all. Frankly my riding style and capabilities are just average to slightly above average so I can't really test the gripping limits of the stock Dunlop.
