The truth is there aren't a hell of a lot of choices out there for an 09 RK Police with the 17" wheel up front.
Which size E3 are you using?

"You can also upgrade to the 160/80-16 for the '08."

Doesn't the '08 still have a 3" rim? Dunlop recommends a 3.5" rim to run properly.

With its cross tread design, you will really feel the difference when running on grooved highways...or should I say, you won't feel the grooves at all !

My rear Night Dragon was half shot at 3k - but I ride twisties on the pegs and it held corners nicely - straight line braking no better than the stock Dumflop.
Running a Bridgestone Spitfire S-11 rear on the front now and absolutely love it - VERY sticky tire; others say it lasts well too. $86.00 to my door.

Did you check the load rating on that tire?

Isn't the load rating on a Heritage lower that touring bikes? Should be able to get away with it...i ran a 74H rated tire on my EGC and no issues except less tread depth.

I'm hoping Dunlop has the American Elite on the market for next year. Currently have 10000 miles on the original 407/408 combo and am satisfied with wear so far. Have ran ME 880's on two other manufacturers, one of which was a touring bike of comparable weight and dimensions. Found the ME 880's to be a good tire with the only complaint a feathering of the sidewall tread at the end of their wear life.

Actually I got lucky on that, but it's a 130 mph speed rated tire and already used on Heritages and even larger bikes, so I didn't worry. Also, as I said, I'm using a BACK tire on the front (Double Darkside) so have some more meat up there (not much; I expected a bit more). If it was going to have problems, I'd think it would have on the DragonTail this weekend. I wore slap through the fire hose crashbar protectors I'd put on in our 600 mile trip. Wear rubs went within 1/4" of the very edge of the tread; which is my max lean angle.
Some of the crotch rockets were looking back at us wondering how Harleys were keeping up. I didn't see any Fatboys, Heritages, or anything on MT's keeping up with our CT's and I can't believe how glued to the road it was. I slipped ONE time with the tire at full lean on the yellow line when I downshifted and nailed it, but it grabbed pavement as soon as it came off the paint. My Night Dragon probably would have kept spinning.

I'm guessing they mean, mileage = tire life. I have an 09 EG Classic. I don't know what tire it was --- stock, I guess. Bought the bike new --- but I got 15,000 miles out of it. It was in pretty good shape at 15K, but I was still being kinda careful with it, for about 1000 miles before I got it changed. At my 15K service, I said "whatever it was, for 15K miles, put another one on."

Load rating should be a 72=783 lbs for the front, rear 74=827. Most of the OEM replacements will be this.

The rear S-11 Bridgestone he's running on the front is rated at 67=677lbs. Lost almost 100 lbs of load rating.

Not pointing fingers, just be careful guys they build those tires with those numbers for a reason.
