Default New to HD looking for recommendations

I just bought my first HD, a 2004 FLHRSI and I'm already looking to make a few changes.

1. I don't love the handle bars. Can you recommend some to try that are more "natural" or more "comfortable" to ride with?

2. Can you recommend fuel gauge tank caps?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Phil

Check out the heritage bars or Wild Ones 508's or 518's for bars. As well, was it private sale or dealer? Is it stock? How many miles? There are other things to think about as well like cam chain tensioners and other services.

I bought it in a private sale. 2808 miles is all. It has about every Willie G. bolt on possible (I'm looking to remove a few). Custom pipes (I don't know who). The previous owner also added a remote control for the back suspension.

the adition of the air compresor for the back suspention should allow for an easy adition of air horns.

An 04 with only 2808 miles? Must've been a garage ornament. I would change out all of your fluids for peace of mind not knowing what the previous owner did. Go to a dealer and check out the bars on a Heritage and see how that feels for you. Several folks change out to the Heritage bars. Once your mileage gets up to around 20k then check the cam tensioners.

Definitely a garage ornament. Owner wasn't even sure if it had FI or not. But hey, I got for a great price so I'm not complaining.

Anyone have experience with these:

Hi and welcome to the forum - this is a great place to learn and get help - the question you have ask is one of the favorite of the forum and has been answered ALOT - To set up a bike for YOU - I truley believe it should be a combo Seat/Bar set up, but thats me. To try and suggest bars to you - big question - long or short arms, long or short legs - makes a difference.

the Wild1 suggestions are good - They suggested 508/518 - I have had and Loved 513/517 - there ya go. These worked great for me the one suggested would Not work for me.

My suggestion for you is to get your favorite drink - sit at the computer and learn the "Search" button above. type in your search and sit back for HOURS of reading. You will soon find out we all have our favoite seats/bars/pipes and access.

I have an 04 FLHTCI that I bought new and in 06 jacked it up and changed it to a RG, then late 08, I jacked it up again and went back to the EG - I used 513 and then 517 on the RG and 575 on the EG and today I use the Flanders pull backs - I have used them all, lol - a lot of us have several bars in our garage,

With only 2808 miles on it, those tires are probably original and around 7 yrs old. You might want to take a GOOD look at them.

Great Advice!!! GET NEW TIRES!, you can't put a price on "Pease of Mind" and yes change the oil as suggested.
