You got that right, this nearly happened to me at a dealership when I was sitting on some bikes. I got off one and just happened to notice it was creeping forward ever so slowly..I happened to grab the bars and lock the stand back, and then I checked if my shorts were jif(fy).

Does'nt our jiffy stand have a safety feature?...mine would creep forward 2-3 inches but not close due to the weight of the bike not allowing the gap to close. I have a road king standard 2006. When It first happened I almost shi__ed myself then tried to catch the bike...but a few days later, spoke to one of the staff from the dealer and they expalined this to me.It's like a built in safety feature of the jiffy stand. I dont think all the bikes have it though. Just FYI

I was repositioning my bike in a parking space and when I moved it forward a little the jiffy stand dragged a little on the gound and stayed a little toward the back of the bike and I didn't notice it. When I got off the bike I didn't notice that it didn't lock into place so after getting off the bike on the high side the jiffy stand folded up and down went the bike about 2 seconds after I got off. It was a very sick feeling as I only had the bike for less then 3 weeks. Thank goodness for the engine and bag guards as thats all that hit. I learned a quick lesson about making sure the jiffy stand is locked into place.

Yeah, I thought "jiffy" was a slightly odd name for it too.
