Default 2011 Better Sounding Stock Exhaust

I just picked up my Street Glide and it sounds pretty damn good for stock mufflers. I have a friends that have a 2009 EGS and a 2010 RK and this one is noticeably better sounding.

From idle through all the gears it is pretty throaty and has decent volume. I can even hear it at cruse on the highway. And everyone that has rode next to me or heard the bike going down the street says it sounds very good.

Does anyone know what HD changed in the mufflers? Not that it matters but we were just wondering. BTW I LOVE this thing.

Make sure you change out the head pipe and get rid of the cat. I just a Propipe on my 2011 RGU and I'm a happy camper...LOL

I think I'm going to leave it stock, at least for a while. I have had my share of LOUD bikes and right now I'm liking it this way.

The volume is pretty good on my stock '11 RKC too. Noticeably better than the 09's I've ridden. Only minor complaint, it has a little bit of a glasspacky sound at WOT. I bought a set of fishtails with quiet baffles for mine, waiting to try them to see what it does to the tone. I may end up putting the stockers back on, as they definitely sound decent.

My 11 sounds much better than my 08 did.
I don't know what they did but I like it. I'm planning on leaving it stock.

I think most people like the sound of their new bikes. But I also think most people end up wanting more sound after the "newness" period is over.

I resemble that statement! LOL

But... I have been on and around enough 08-10 Tour Bikes to know that they did something different. I was just wondering what it was.

Congrats on the new FLHX - funny to think the '11 pipes would be louder than my '09 b/c of the CAT, but I changed mine for Rineharts & like the sound much better. Ride on!

I'm pleasantly surprised with the sound of my 2011 RG Ultra. Much nicer than my friends 09 Street Glide.

I may go to SE slip-ons simply because I like the look of fishtails.
