EBIGFISH...Bob told me that also, to vary RPM...I will be riding it to central Ohio from Fuel Moto so ought to be a challenge but then again all freeway just run the throttle up and down as needed...prolly better than me in town shifting at 45-55 at times....I tend to hot rod it when by myself yet also powershift @ 6200 with the wife on the back at times..She FEELS the need for speed also...lol

My bike is perfectly happy with anything above 2200rpm. I'll even run it at low load below that.. but I like keeping inside the 2500 to 3200 range for most steady state highway miles.. and usually around 2500~2700 for just big mileage 70mph riding.

But my bike is perfectly happy at just about any low to medium load from 2K to 2.5K and then any load from 2.5K and up.

Satchmo, I road mine back to Dayton Ohio area. Not a problem. Chicago sucks but I expected that. So it was a 500 mile run in one day for me to get home. Cruised a good bit at 75 mph in 6th. With traffic though we got a good variance. Bike loves the 2600 to 3000 rpm range. I have the TW555 cams. And you are correct Sir. 3rd gear roll ons are a hoot!! Pay attention though as the shift points hits fast. It is easy to roll right on up into the 5,000 to 5,500 range before you know it. You will see what I mean shortly!

On another note. Check your exhaust flange bolts after about 1500 miles. Takes a bit to get the new gaskets seated in. Then snug them up after break in. 2 of my four were loose. I did not do that when Jamie originally put on the header pipe. Back when he did the cams. I ended up loosing a nut and all the rest were loose.

I'm riding back to Urbana so close to your Dayton Flintshooter54...How long did it take you each way ?? Thx for the tips and should be easy to keep those rpm's on the highway but yes need to watch how quick those R's rise. I'm going with the FM road 7 track 2 into 1 and hoping for a great sound

With stops for breaks and fuel oh and getting stuck in traffic in Chicago for a bit. It took us right at 12 hrs. I am closer to Xenia but not many heard of it except the town the tornado blew away in 1974. So yea you are right up 68 from me. I went with the E series. Sounds quieter to me on the bike, but my friends say oh no. they have much more rumble than the little 3" Jackpots I was running. Much deeper sound. Which is perfect for me. Just cruising down the highway I can hear the radio but roll it on and she really wakes up! Told Jamie I liked a bit quieter, but to tune for max torque. Said he went down to 7 disc and up to 14. He settled on 11. I think it is awesome.

A group of us rode through there on Sunday and were caught in that wicked storm. I figured it would be at about 12 hours and I'm staying about 10 miles from Jamie. I tried staying at the hotel they suggested but it figures The Packers are playing the Saints in Green Bay the Thursday I'm dropping off the bike. NO company discounts and over $200 a night so not doing that.
I have been watching and reading about Fuel Moto for years and still can't believe I'm going to have on of their builds !!!!
How many miles on your bike ?? Man I love the color of our bikes
