Jamie, wondering the same thing. Seems like a good idea to work the heads while they are off. That should add some top end HP for those of us that want tq off the bottom and still be able to run it out on the top end.

From my impressions of riding this I really don't feel like it runs out of anything. You are up to 5000 rpm in every gear so fast that before you get into sixth the speedo is telling you " I hope there aren't any cops around". You are going 90+ mph so fast that I really don't know if it needs it. I did ask similar questions when I was there but Jamie mentioned bottom end issues with headwork and the related headaches involved with that. I am using the stock headpipe which could be holding back the top end and I would guess a 2-1 performance pipe would be a plus but I am satisfied as of now.

Yes, as noted earlier there would benefits with head work however this would likely put Hp/Tq with our kit in the range you may want to strengthen the lower end. We will be testing some heads in december and will post results here.

I was at an Indy shop and he feels Head work provides instant 10 HP w no stress on bottom end. I stopped in Harley shop and he said you can go in toliet w 255 cams and Head work alone, so leave alone if it's not broke.

Is my D&D Boss Fat Cat with Concentric Baffle (09) too restrictive for your kit?
Thanks!

It is not going to be the head work alone, it is going to be what the final results are with the rest of the combination. If you are shooting for more that 120Hp/125Tq I would suggest building the lower end to handle it. Another huge consideration is riding style, as under normal driving conditions the crank will be much more durable than if you are doing wheelies and aggresive holeshots.

I would recommend switching to the Q or Big Bore baffle for best results with your Fatcat as the Concentric baffle is very restrictive and is designed for stock motors.
