107" Big Bore Kit and Dyno Testing by Fuel Moto
#1201
My FM107 build has approximately 10,000 miles on it now. Yesterday I did a 204 mile ride with mixed city and highway driving on state highways and interstate. The mix was about 50/50 state highway to interstate. I knocked down 41.7 mpg on my Ultra with two up.
My FM107 is with a TW-555 cam, stock heads, Jackpot 2-1-2 head pipe and Rinehart 4" slip ons. Tuned with a PC-V by FM, it dyno'd 106 hp / 121 ft-lbs.
Just thought I would pass this on.

10,000 miles is great and the fuel mileage is impressive. Since I just had the break-in oil change done, the last thing I have been looking at is fuel mileage .... I have no throttle management capabilities! I am thinking my mileage would be expressed in minutes per gallon .... lol.
In the near future is another dyno tune. The dealer who built it will have his dyno up and running soon and feels his tuner can get more power than the indy got out of her especially since its broken in. Since he is going to re-run it on his dyno and I have been wanting different slip-ons, a custom set of Bassani slash-cuts will be on there before they run it.

The build is with TW-555 cams, stock heads, Jackpot 2-1-2 headpipe, Jackpot slip-ons and PowerVision tuner. Tuned on the dyno at FM, 103 HP, 122 TQ.
I would have them build me another in a heartbeat!!

I'll add to that, my FM107 build has 15K on it now, over July 4 did a trip to see friends in Ohio. Across Indiana on the SG, two up, (and I'm no lightweight) we clocked a solid 44 MPG at 80mph and the bike just purred.

I think it was right there from the beginning, but I, just like many, could not measure it accurately because I spent a lot of my time going from 20 mph to 100 mph as quickly as I could, resulting in about 38 mpg per tank for the first couple tanks. I do think it has improved a little since the build, but not sure if that's the engine or my driving methods. I don't check it all that often, I am not all that concerned with the economy of the thing, but when I do my range has been 37 for a low and 46 for a high. The 46 is on toll road, fill up, pull out, set the cruise at just over 70 mph and ride until the gas is gone. 37, well, that's just playing in town, a lot of stop and go, hard acceleration.

I have a question for those who have had the 107 kit installed. I had mine done two weeks ago and love it. The bike screams. However, has anyone noticed that the more you ride it the more it feels just normal. Don't get me wrong, the bike still is as fast as it was, but it doesn't impress me as much as the first few days. Maybe I'll have to put a supercharger on it!
