What did I do wrong?
OK folks, I am somewhat embarrassed to ask this question but frustration is overcoming that. Last year I installed Stage 1 on my 09 SG. Air cleaner, fuel pack V&H dual headers and Slip ons. Everything was cool for a while, but now I cannot keep the slip ons tight. If I hit a good bump, they jar loose. I've tightened the crap out of them repeatedly but they only come loose again. (The clamps stay tight) Its coming to the point that I'm ready to tack a bead to solve it but really don't want to do that because of the rust it will allow later. I know this is simple to the point of silly but it's getting old. Any ideas? Thanks.......

Yes you need to use new TORCA clamps and torque then to 45-60 ft/lbs. You can only get 3-4 removal/install cycles on a clamp. I had the same thing happen last week. Torqued them down and after a 400 mile ride the muffler was within 1/4" or so of falling off the header pipe. I recommend that when you torque them do it in increments of 10, first do 30 ft/lbs then 40, then 50. I had a brand new clamp snap the nut off at around 50ft/lbs and almost damaged my bike in the process!
